Refund Policy

Overview

EventPass uses a payment authorization model — your card is held (not charged) at the time of purchase. The charge only completes if the event host meets the attendance threshold. This means in many cases, refunds are automatic and you are never charged at all.

How Payments Work

When you purchase a pass, your card is authorized but not charged. The funds are only captured (charged) after the event ends, based on whether the host showed up. If the host does not meet the attendance threshold, the hold is released automatically and you pay nothing — no refund needed because no charge was made.

Automatic Releases (You Are Never Charged)

  • Host no-show or low attendance: If the host attends less than 50% of the scheduled event duration, all payment holds are automatically released. Your card is never charged.
  • Event cancelled before it starts: If the host cancels an upcoming event, all holds are released immediately.

When Refunds Are Issued (You Were Already Charged)

  • Verified technical failure: If the bot failed to grant you VC access due to a verified issue on our end, contact us and we will issue a full refund.
  • Host discretion: Individual hosts may offer refunds at their own discretion for other reasons. Contact the host directly.

When Refunds Are Not Available

  • You attended the event and accessed the VC
  • You were unable to attend due to your own circumstances
  • The event occurred as advertised and the host met the attendance threshold
  • More than 30 days have passed since the event

Platform Fee

EventPass's 10% platform fee is non-refundable in cases where the event was delivered as described and the charge was captured. In cases of automatic release (host no-show), no platform fee is charged either.

Refund Processing Time

Automatic hold releases disappear from your statement within 1–7 business days depending on your bank. Refunds on captured charges typically take 5–10 business days to appear.

How to Request a Refund

For automatic releases, no action is needed — your bank will process it automatically. For other refund requests, contact us at support@eventpass.app with your pass ID and a description of the issue.
